Angel Cleaning Services provides professional commercial and residential cleaning solutions across Christchurch. We pride ourselves on high standards, reliability and excellent client service. We’re seeking an experienced, practical and reliable Operations Assistant / Office Administrator who will also be a hands-on senior cleaner and small-team leader.

Overview of the role:
This is a practical, hands-on role combining commercial/residential cleaning with light office and operational duties. The successful applicant will perform advanced cleaning tasks (including end-of-lease and deep cleans), lead a small team of cleaners, prepare client invoices and manage client communications, and assist with rostering, supplies and site H&S. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Perform commercial and residential cleaning tasks as required (daily cleans, deep cleans and end-of-lease cleans).
  • Assign day-to-day tasks and shifts to a small cleaning team (typically up to 3–5 staff), monitor attendance and conduct spot quality checks.
  • Provide on-the-job training and coaching for new cleaners and maintain basic training records.
  • Prepare client invoices for assigned jobs, manage client email communications and maintain job records.
  • Allocate and maintain cleaning equipment and supplies for scheduled jobs; arrange minor stock orders and report major maintenance needs to the owner/manager.
  • Implement and monitor occupational health & safety procedures on site; ensure staff use PPE and follow hygiene procedures; report H&S non-compliance or major incidents to the owner/manager.
  • Liaise with clients, subcontractors and suppliers to coordinate job requirements and resolve routine site issues; escalate complex matters to the owner/manager.
  • Contribute practical feedback to the review of office/operational procedures and assist with implementing agreed service standards.

Essential selection criteria / skills:

  • Proven commercial and/or residential cleaning experience and practical ability to perform deep and end-of-lease cleans.
  • Experience preparing invoices and managing client correspondence and email.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise and coach a small team on the job.
  • Good communication, basic numeracy and record-keeping skills.
  • Able to operate and maintain cleaning equipment and perform specialist cleaning tasks when required.

Desirable qualifications / experience:

  • Hospitality or vocational training 
  • at least 2 years of work experience
