About the role:

As a result of our continued growth, we have an exciting opportunity available for a Construction Broker to join our National Specialism team—an industry leader in providing innovative insurance and risk management solutions for the construction sector.

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Construction Broker to join our Auckland-led team. In this role, you will work with a diverse portfolio of construction clients, guiding them through complex risks and ensuring they secure the coverage necessary for their success.

Key responsibilities for the role include:

• Service Gallagher construction clients and support construction placements across Gallaghers branch network

• Drive organic growth in the Gallagher Construction Insurance portfolio.

• Identify opportunities for Gallagher to achieve uplift on its existing construction book

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with all insurance companies operating in this space

• Support upskilling of Gallagher branch colleagues in Construction insurance

• Keep abreast of all new technical and market developments in the Construction Insurance area and effectively communicate these amongst the Gallagher network as appropriate

• Assist in management of challenging Construction Insurance claims

• Work within a global team of over 1000 dedicated construction specialists

• Apply best business practice - ethically, professionally and with integrity in all circumstances so that Gallaghers reputation and brand is never undermined

• Work within the construction team to facilitate product development and management

Skills and Experience

• Technical product awareness in the Construction Insurance space

• Experienced in dealing with complex issues

• Proven strong performance track record

• Highly self-motivated and ability to work independently as well as within a team

• Experience in developing new business opportunities

• Good negotiation and relationship management skills

• May hold relevant tertiary and/or postgraduate qualifications.

• Must have a Certificate in Financial Services (NZQA Level 5)
