Job Description

The Production Chef works as part of a team to produce high quality food items according to approved specification/recipes. The work is done in compliance with all food safety (including HACCP), quality and safety guidelines, regulations and company policies.
Main Duties and Responsibilities\n
\n - To work in the kitchen area cooking, preparing and assembling food
\n - Follows recipes; prepares and cooks products to specification and ensures quality of products is maintained at all times in accordance with customer expectations
\n - To maintain awareness of department and possess knowledge of customer products and requirements
\n - Ensure all special meal requirements are strictly adhered to (including Halal standards and allergen management)
\n - Ensure full understanding and follow all legal and company requirements in line with food safety, site security, quality and health and safety standards, policies and procedures
\n - To assist in meeting Production targets as set by Line Managers.
\n - Actively participate in key team activities including shift briefings, site and security audits and proactively contribute to continuous improvement through tasting and idea sharing
\n - Monitor quality to ensure it consistently meets customer standards
\n - Provide direction, training and supervision to kitchen workers as required
\n - Undertake yield testing of product through all processes i.e. raw to cook / assembly.
\n - Cleans equipment, work surfaces and areas, applying 'clean as you go' policy and procedure (e.g. keep floor and general working area clean and tidy at all times).
\n - Perform any additional duties reasonably assigned by management in line with business needs

\n - Ability to work unsupervised in a busy environment using own initiative
\n - Confident IT ability
\n - High standard of literacy and numeracy skills
\n - Accurate/detailed focused
\n - Flexible & self-motivated with the ability to 'think on your feet'
\n - Must pass all pre-employment checks
\n - Must have full driver license and reliable transport
\n
Qualifications\n
\n - Qualification as a Chef by trade or equivalent practical experience in a large scale food production environment
\n - Completed vocational training in culinary and related hygiene course preferred
\n - Work experience in a large-scale kitchen production required.
\n

Pay rate: $33 per hour
\n Working Days & hours: Rotating roster 7 days between 5am - 10pm
