Tā mātou arawātea | Our Opportunity:

We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join our Data and Analytics team, delivering solutions within our modern Data Platform.

You will use your technical engineering background and strong communication skills to contribute to the foundations of Mercurys Data Platform and deliver bespoke products to our business users.

Mō te tūranga | About the role:

• Build, test, deploy and monitor data pipelines using the Mercury Data Platform technology and processes.
• Be confident in developing complex transformations from multiple data sources whilst maintaining history through Change Data Capture.
• Be comfortable with working in cross-functional delivery squads, specifically with Business Analysts, Analytics Engineers and Solution Architects.
• Liaise with data source owners and/or SMEs to understand Mercurys data assets, allowing these to be leveraged within the Data Platform.
• Provide mentoring to junior members of Delivery Squads.
• Challenge the status quo. Bring your technical know-how and curiosity to the role to help us to drive continuous improvement into everything that we do.

Tā mātou e kimi nei | We are looking for:

• Tertiary or similar qualification in technology
• At least five years of experience in a commercial technology environment, with a minimum of two years in the Data Engineering domain
• Proven experience with AWS or Microsoft Azure, Databricks, SQL and PySpark
• Exposure to Terraform (or similar technologies) would be advantageous
