Job Description

JO&JOE is opening its new hostel in Auckland! And is looking for its next Houseperson. Come and write a page in the history of JO&JOE, by being part of the opening team! The Houseperson is the behind-the-scenes hero, supporting the housekeeping and maintenance teams to ensure our spaces are always ready for guests and the community.

None of these missions will scare you:

Mission 1: Support the housekeeping team by delivering linen, amenities, and supplies to guest rooms and public areas.

Mission 2: Respond quickly to guest requests for extra towels, pillows, or other items, always with a friendly smile.

Mission 3: Keep public spaces (lobbies, corridors, restrooms) clean, tidy, and welcoming at all times.

Mission 4: Assist with minor maintenance tasks and report any issues promptly to the relevant team.

Mission 5: Help set up and break down event spaces as needed.

Mission 6: Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and hygiene regulations.

Mission 7: Be a team player, always ready to lend a hand wherever needed.

Qualifications

Because youve got it in you:

  • A keen eye for detail and a passion for cleanliness.
  • A positive, can-do attitude and a willingness to help others.
  • Good organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strict adherence to hygiene, waste management, and safety rules.
  • A desire to learn and grow.

YOUR LITTLE EXTRAS ARE:

  • Experience in hospitality or cleaning roles is a plus, but not essential.
  • Language required: English
