The Bookshop & Lotto in Huntly operated by Shree Swaminarayan Limited is a well-established retail store offering a diverse range of books, stationery, gifts, and Lotto services. We are seeking a motivated and experienced Retail Manager to oversee daily operations, lead a small team, and ensure the efficient running of the store. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in retail management, customer service, and sales, along with excellent leadership skills.

Store Operations Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the store, ensuring smooth functioning and compliance with company policies and industry regulations. Staff Leadership & Training: Recruit, train, and supervise staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment. Customer Service: Maintain high standards of customer service, handling inquiries and resolving complaints efficiently. Stock Control & Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels, manage stock ordering, and ensure accurate stocktaking procedures. Sales & Merchandising: Implement sales strategies, monitor store performance, and maintain effective merchandising and promotional displays. Financial Management: Oversee cash handling, banking, and reconciliation of daily sales, ensuring accurate financial reporting. Lotto & Compliance: Ensure compliance with Lotto NZ requirements and all applicable retail regulations. Health & Safety: Maintain a safe and secure environment for staff and customers, adhering to workplace health and safety standards.

Skills & Experience Required: Minimum 1 year of experience in a retail management role, preferably in a similar retail environment, OR at least a Diploma qualification in any field. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Experience in stock management and merchandising. Proficiency in sales reporting and financial transactions. Ability to work independently and manage a small team effectively.

Additional Requirements: Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays, as per business needs. Willingness to undergo a drug and alcohol test if required. Reliable transport to work and a full drivers licence. Ability to communicate effectively in English (additional languages are a plus).
