This is a dynamic role where you will be instrumental in shaping the success of our high-performing production team. You will focus on delivering targeted technical and compliance training, coordinating individualised development plans, and enhancing capabilities across all shifts. Your role ensures that employees are not only skilled and adaptable but also fully compliant with cGMP, SOP, and regulatory standards, fostering consistent quality and operational excellence. Shiftwork will be required as per Training Schedules.

What youll do

  • With input from the Technical Training Leader, the On the Job Trainer supports the development of Standard Work documents and learning materials, driving continuous improvement and supporting the business as production volumes increase.
  • Deliver on-the-job training to Operators using technical materials.
  • Identify training needs with Operators and SMEs based on gaps from QEs, CAPAs, and audits.
  • Assist in maintaining and updating the Technical Skills Development Framework (TSDF), including assessments and records.
  • Help identify Operator training requirements for skills growth and create individual development plans.
  • Upskill Operators and SMEs in areas where systems need improvement, using the Skills Matrix for competency levels.
  • Support the creation of engaging learning activities and course content with the Technical Training Leader.
  • Standardise set-up processes and cycle times for all lines and equipment.
  • Develop coaching, mentoring, and technical training competencies for personal and team growth.
  • Collaborate with leaders to create and manage Work Instructions and assist with SOP updates.
  • Lead Value Stream Mapping activities for efficiency and champion Process Improvement initiatives.
  • Train and mentor Operators on Process Improvement methodologies like Kaizen, SMED, and 5S.
  • Support new hire orientation, ensuring familiarity with processes, SOPs, and GMP requirements.
  • Track learner performance and provide feedback on training effectiveness and improvements.
  • Address performance issues and provide metrics to leadership and P&C team.

What youll bring

  • 5 + years experience in solid dose production within the pharmaceutical industry, including at least 1 year in a supervisory or training role.
  • Strong GMP background, with experience in FDA PIC/S licensed environments.
  • Proven track record in training, developing, and coaching operators in a pharmaceutical manufacturing setting.
  • Supervisory experience with strong leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Expertise in facilitating training for teams.
  • Tech-savvy with proficiency in Word, Excel, Email, and eQMS
  • Solid understanding of 5S, Kaizen, and Root Cause Analysis
  • Flexibility. The position is primarily Day shift, however will require working on back shifts to ensure the training & development of team members on all rosters. For clarity, Day-shift is 7.30am-4pm Mon to Fri; Afternoon-shift 3.50pm - 11.50pm Mon to Fri; and Night-shift 11.40pm - 7.40am Sun night to Fri morning.
