About the role:
- Provide specialist palliative care (PC) advice and expertise both in direct care delivery and to mentor staff so they gain palliative care knowledge and skill
- Collaborate across the organisation acting in the roles of clinician, educator, consultant, researcher, and leader/change
- Pursue clinical excellence and improved health outcomes
- Ensure quality nursing practice and evidence-based practice standards, fostering education and research
- Contribute to the strategic direction of PC practice for the organisation
- Rostered days Monday to Friday between 8am and 5pm, exact times to be negotiated

About you:
- Minimum of three years practice in palliative care nursing, and advanced knowledge and skills
- Advanced communication techniques such as conflict resolution, diffusion and mediation skills
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Either hold or be working towards post graduate qualification at a minimum of a diploma or/and a masters degree
- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
- Experience in projects/initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings

Salary range
This role is covered by the terms and conditions of the expired NZNO CEA and the salary will be in accordance with the DSN Pay Scale, between $116,040 and $127,674 p.a pro-rata dependant on relevant experience.
