About the Business

We are a well-established convenience store operating in Porirua, Wellington. We are seeking a motivated and experienced Retail Manager to oversee daily store operations, manage staff, maintain high customer service standards, and ensure the efficient and compliant running of the store.

Vacant Positions: I

Hours of Work: Minimum 32 hours per week guaranteed, rostered across Monday to

Sunday (including weekends and public holidays as required)

Pay Rate: NZD $30.00 — $35.00 per hour (depending on experience)

 

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

As a Retail Manager, you will be responsible for organising and controlling the operation of the retail store, including:

•       Managing daily store operations and ensuring service standards are met
•       Determining product range, maintaining stock levels, ordering stock and liaising with suppliers
•       Setting prices, overseeing merchandising, promotions and in-store marketing initiatives
•       Monitoring sales performance, budgeting, controlling costs and minimising wastage
•        Maintaining accurate records of stock levels, sales and financial transactions
•        Handling customer enquiries and complaints in a professional manner
•        Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety requirements and store policies
•        Ensuring compliance with any relevant retail obligations, including age-restricted sales where applicable

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this position, applicants must meet one of the following:

•        At least 1—3 years of relevant retail experience; OR

         •        A relevant qualification at NZQF Level 4 or Level 5 or higher.

In addition, you must have:

     Strong customer service and communication skills

•        Experience with POS systems, stock control and basic sales reporting

         •        Ability to work under pressure in a busy retail environment

                 A reliable, honest and responsible approach to cash handling and store operations
