As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Tanker Driver to join our operations team. This role is critical in ensuring the safe and efficient transportation and delivery of fuel products while maintaining the highest standards of compliance, safety, and customer service. About the Role The Tanker Driver will be responsible for the safe transportation, loading, unloading, and delivery of fuel products to customers across designated routes. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining operational efficiency while ensuring compliance with all road transport, dangerous goods, and workplace safety requirements. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: • Safely operate fuel tanker vehicles in accordance with company policies, road transport regulations, and dangerous goods requirements. • Manoeuvre tanker vehicles into position for loading and unloading activities at terminals, depots, and customer sites. • Load and unload fuel products using approved pumping, transfer, and delivery systems while adhering to strict safety procedures. • Conduct pre-start, daily, and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and operational safety. • Monitor vehicle condition and promptly report mechanical issues, defects, incidents, or maintenance requirements. • Verify delivery schedules, manifests, transport documentation, and customer delivery requirements. • Ensure fuel products are transported safely and securely while complying with load limitations and dangerous goods regulations. • Observe and comply with all workplace health and safety, environmental, and operational procedures. • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, fuel transfers, vehicle inspections, and compliance documentation. • Obtain proof of delivery and customer sign-off upon completion of deliveries. • Ensure all equipment, hoses, pumps, and tanker systems are maintained in a clean, safe, and serviceable condition. • Respond professionally to customer enquiries and maintain a high standard of customer service during all deliveries. • Participate in safety meetings, training programs, and ongoing compliance initiatives. Qualifications • Relevant Heavy Vehicle Driver Licence (HC or MC preferred). • Minimum 1 year of experience operating heavy vehicles, tanker vehicles or similar transport equipment. Other Requirements • Dangerous Goods (DG) Licence, Multi-Combination License, Safe Load Program accreditation (or willingness to obtain) highly regarded. • Strong understanding of road transport regulations, vehicle safety requirements, and compliance obligations. • Ability to work independently and manage delivery schedules effectively. • Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends and days. • Strong commitment to workplace safety and safe driving practices. • Good communication and customer service skills. • Ability to complete required transport and compliance documentation accurately. • Clean driving record and demonstrated reliability.
