Position: Fibrous Plasterer

We are seeking experienced and competent Fibrous Plasterer to join our team working on construction projects. This role involves the installation, finishing, and repair of plasterboard lining systems and solid plaster surfaces in accordance with project specifications and the New Zealand Building Code.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

·         Interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications to determine job requirements and material quantities

·         Measure, mark, cut, and install plasterboard sheets to walls and ceilings

·         Install suspended ceiling systems and composite wall lining systems where required

·         Fix plasterboard to timber or metal framing using appropriate fasteners and adhesives

·         Fit insulation materials and vapour barriers where specified

·         Set and secure corner beads, trims, control joints, and decorative plaster elements such as cornices and mouldings

·         Tape joints and apply jointing compounds to cover seams, screw heads, and fixings

·         Sand and smooth surfaces to achieve a consistent, paint-ready finish

·         Mix and apply plaster, cement, or render coats using hand and power tools

·         Ensure surfaces, corners, and angles are plumb, level, straight, and finished to specification

·         Apply acoustic, thermal, and fire-resistant materials as required

·         Carry out repairs, alterations, and maintenance of existing plasterwork

·         Maintain a safe work environment and comply with all workplace health and safety regulations

·         Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition

·         Collaborate with other trades and contractors on-site to ensure smooth project progression

·         Perform any other duties reasonably required by the employer

Pay rate: $28.00   - $32.00 / hour

Guaranteed hours of work per week:  Minimum 30 hours, permanent full-time

Requirements for the job:

·         At least 3 yearsofrelevant work experience

·         Be physically fit and healthy

·         Full time availability, may work on the weekends

·         Strong attention to detail and workmanship standards

·         Ability to work independently and as part of a team

·         No criminal record

·         Candidates need to be NZ citizen/resident
