ATS Chartered Accountant is a growing accounting and business advisory firm based in New Zealand. We provide accounting, taxation, bookkeeping, payroll, and business advisory services to a wide range of small and medium-sized businesses across New Zealand. 

As our client based continunes to expand, particularly among Mandarin-speaking business owners, we are seeking a motivated Junior Accountant to join our professional team. 

The Applicant requires to work miminum 30 H maximum 40 H a week

Key Responsibilities 

  • Preparing financial statements and management reports
  • Prepare GST returns, income tax returns and other tax compliance work 
  • Process bookkeeping, bank reconciliations and payroll if required 
  • Month-end and year-end accounting procedures 
  • Liaise with clients regarding accounting and taxation matters 
  • Maintain accurate accounting records using cloud accounting software 
  • Support senior accountants on various client engagement 
  • Provide timely administrative administrative support to the accounting team 

Skills and Experience 

Applicants should have 

  • A Bachelor's degree( or higher qualification) in Accounting or a closely related discipline 
  • knowlege of New Zealand Accounting principles and taxation requirements
  • Strong analyticaly and numerical skills 
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team 
  • High attention to detail and excellent organisational skills 
  • Experience using Xero, MYOB or similar accounting software would be an advantage 

Language Requirement 

As a significant proportion of our clients are Mandarin-speaking business owners, the successful applicant should be able to communicate effectively in both English and Mandarin to assist with client enquiries, explain financial information, and provide ongoing accounting support.
