In this role, you will be providing clinical guidance and assistance to some of our most vulnerable and high needs tamariki and rangatahi, and their whānau, providing best practice models of assessment and intervention.
Mō te tūnga | About the roleThis position will supervise Psychologists and be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Clinical Services team. This role will further hold a clinical caseload and have direct supervision with the Clinical Services Manager (a Registered Psychologist). The Psychologist Team Leader roles are rarely vacant.
Experience working with children in a care and protection environment, specifically providing assessment and therapy with children and their families/caregivers, and assessments of parenting capacity will be an advantage. Responsibilities will include working with Māori and Pacifica clients, providing professional consultation to Social Workers, providing training and liaising with community providers.
Clinical Services are part of the new Health and Clinical Services Group which includes the High Needs Services and High and Complex Needs interagency teams. We currently are creating our clinical governance framework and are enhancing the clinical leadership and support for psychologists within Oranga Tamariki. We currently have over 50 Psychologists within our 11 teams nationwide.

The Psychologist Team Leader role starts at $125,926 per annum and appointment on step is in line with skills and experience.
