THE ROLE:Part of The Building Wash Company, you will be leading our professional abseil teams across Auckland's most prominent buildings and structures. You will be the client service delivery key contact, manage job / project planning and delivery, mentor crew members, and maintain our high safety and quality standards while working with some of Auckland's biggest property managers and building owners. This position requires a good head for heights and an even better head for business!
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Lead and coordinate abseil crews across multiple Auckland sites with daily operational oversight
Manage, train, and mentor your abseil teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
Act as the primary point of contact for clients, building strong relationships, and effectively communicating project updates and resolving issues.
Manage end-to-end project delivery from planning through completion across the Auckland metropolitan area
Collaborate with sales team on quoting, scoping and technical review of major abseiling projects
Drive operational excellence and process improvements to support business growth and service expansion
Deliver exceptional safety performance, quality assurance and HSEQ compliance across all operations
Oversee general office administration tasks, including job scheduling, resource allocation, and maintaining project records
Build and maintain strong client relationships while managing expectations and resolving service issues
Recruit, train and develop high-performing teams to meet operational demands
Job title: Abseil SupervisorJob location: Auckland region (based in 84 Kerrs Road, Wiri, Manukau, Auckland and at allocated clients' sites)Number of positions for this job: 1Employment type: Permanent, Full-timeHourly rate: $40.00-$55.00 per hour, depending on experienceDays required: Monday to Friday and occasionally before or after normal hours/weekends/nightshifts when requiredHours per week: The normal work hours for a week are 40, to be worked during the hours of 6AM to 6PM Monday to Friday and weekends when required. Sometimes our work will be affected by things that are out of control e.g. poor/unsafe weather conditions, so your start and finish times and days of work may vary as directed. Your hours of work will not be reduced below 30 hours and any increase in hours will be reasonable.
REQUIREMENTS
Industrial Rope Access Trade Association (IRATA) Level 3 certification essential.
Two years of experience leading teams in the trades industry essential.
Proven experience in team management, including mentoring, training, and developing staff.
Exceptional client communication and relationship management skills.
Strong organizational skills with a focus on general office management and administration.
Experience managing commercial projects.
Sharp problem-solving abilities and cool head under pressure.
Outstanding communication and time management skills.
Conversant with relevant work techniques and legislation.
Full driver licence (NZ Class 1 or equivalent International Class) essential.
Ability to work productively in adverse conditions.
Physically and mentally fit.
A strong health and safety focus at all times.
The ability to work collaboratively.
