Tech Passive Fire was established in February 2014 provide high quality commercial and residential passive fire protection to safeguard buildings and lives.  We provide expert advice, stick to set time frames, while providing competitive pricing. We are looking for 1 x Quantity Surveyors to join our friendly team in Auckland. 

All the positions are permanent with a guaranteed minimum of 30 working hours per week.

The main job responsibilities include but not limit to:

• Reviewing architects’ and engineers’ drawings, fire reports, and specifications to identify passive fire protection requirements and prepare quantities.
• Assessing material, labour, maintenance costs, and contract conditions related to company systems to ensure compliance, efficiency, and cost effectiveness.
• Preparing cash flow forecasts and assist clients in planning project finances at each stage. 
• Liaising with site managers, fire engineers, clients, main contractors, and subcontractors to coordinate passive fire installation works.
• Preparing technical reports, compliance documentation, contracts, budgets, risk assessments, and quality assurance records.
• Providing technical advice to managers and clients on solutions, code compliance, and improvement strategies.
• Monitoring passive fire materials (e.g. fire stopping systems, fire collars, fire seals, fire-rated boards) and arranging procurement as required.
• Managing design and site changes, assessing cost and compliance impacts, and measuring, valuing, and negotiating variations related to projects.
• Establishing and maintaining professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders and assisting in resolving contractual or technical disputes.
• Preparing interim and final valuations, variation claims, and documentation for inspections, certifications, and insurance purposes related to passive fire projects.
• Travelling between the office and construction sites to inspect passive fire installations, monitor progress, and ensure compliance with approved drawings and fire regulations.

To be successful, you will need to

• Bachelor degree in Quantity Surveying or relevant discipline OR At least three years of relevant experience.
• Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team with “can-do” attitude.
• Strong and polished verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical, commercial, and negotiation capability.
• Previous experience in Passvie Fire (preferred)
