We are seeking an experienced Baker to join our bakery café in Waikanae. This is a full‑time, permanent role responsible for producing high quality bakery items, and cabinet products for daily service.

Payrent : $ 25 To $30
Hours:Mininum-35 hours per week (early mornings required)
Role Purpose
The Baker is responsible for preparing, baking, and finishing a wide range of pastries, breads, savouries, and cabinet items to a consistent, high standard. The role supports daily café production, wholesale orders, catering, and fundraising programmes. The Pastry Baker must maintain excellent food safety, efficiency, and reliability in a fast‑paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and bake bread, loaves, cakes, pastries, and other bakery products.
* Measure, mix, knead, shape, and bake dough according to recipes.
* Monitor ovens and baking times to ensure products are baked correctly.
* Maintain consistent quality, appearance, and freshness of all bakery products.
* Follow daily production schedules to meet business requirements.
* Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards.
* Maintain cleanliness of bakery equipment, racks, workstations, floors, and production areas.
* Follow all company policies, procedures, and operational standards.
* Assist in maintaining stock and ingredients as required.
* Attend all required training sessions and support the development of bakery assistants and new team members.
* Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment to meet production deadlines.
* Communicate professionally and work effectively with team members and customers
Skills & Experience Required
*Minimum 1 years full‑time professional bakery , pastry experience or NZQF Level 3 or higher qualification.
*Knowledge of food safety, allergen management, and hygiene standards
*Good communication and teamwork skills
*Ability to work early mornings and meet daily production targets
*No criminal background and must be of clean character.
