The West Coast Region (Te Kaunihera Whakakotahi o Te Tai Poutini) extends over a distance of 600 km from Kahurangi Point in the north to Awarua Point in the south. We are now seeking a CFO / Group Manager - Corporate Services to join our senior leadership team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our Council and region.

This is an opportunity to step into a senior leadership role where you will provide trusted strategic advice to the CEO, Council, and Audit & Risk Committee. You will lead a talented team across finance, corporate governance, customer services, and strategic planning - ensuring our frameworks are robust, future-focused, and aligned with Council's vision.

What you will be responsible for

• Leading the financial stewardship of Council, including treasury, budgets, reporting, rating, and audit processes.
• Driving the development and delivery of the Long-Term Plan (LTP), Annual Plan, and Annual Report.
• Providing strategic corporate governance and financial risk advice to support sound decision-making.
• Overseeing corporate services, including customer service and front-of-house operations, to ensure a positive experience for our community.
• Building a high-performing, motivated team that is supported, empowered, and connected to Council's values.
• Fostering strong relationships with iwi, key stakeholders, and our community while upholding the highest standards of integrity and transparency.

About you You will bring significant senior leadership experience in finance and corporate services, ideally within the public sector or local government. You will be:

• CA or CPA qualified, with a strong background in financial management, corporate governance, and strategic planning.
• A collaborative leader who builds trust, motivates teams, and drives improvement.
• Skilled at translating complex financial and strategic information into practical insights that support great decision-making.
• Committed to integrity, accountability, and serving your community.
