Product Owner – Early & Late-Stage Collections

As Product Owner for Early & Late-Stage Collections, you'll lead a squad focused on improving key customer journeys across the collection’s lifecycle. You'll work closely with business and technology stakeholders to identify opportunities, prioritise outcomes and deliver meaningful improvements that create value for both customers and the business.

About the Squad\n

This squad owns key parts of ASB's early and late-stage collections experience, focusing on how we engage with and support customers throughout their collections journey. The team works closely with operational and business stakeholders to improve processes, simplify experiences and deliver outcomes that balance customer needs, regulatory obligations and business objectives.

As part of a growing workstream undergoing significant transformation, you'll help shape and prioritise opportunities that improve both customer and frontline employee experiences while supporting the future direction of collections at ASB.

About the Role\n

As Product Owner for the Early & Late-Stage Collections squad, you'll define the experience direction, lead prioritisation decisions and drive improvements across key collections customer journeys. Working across a broad range of stakeholders, you'll identify opportunities to improve customer outcomes, streamline processes and deliver meaningful business value.

You'll be responsible for setting and delivering a roadmap that balances customer needs, operational effectiveness and regulatory requirements while helping shape the future direction of collections capability within ASB.

  • Define and deliver a roadmap focused on collections experience outcomes
  • \n
  • Develop and maintain a prioritised backlog of initiatives and improvements
  • \n
  • Lead discovery activities to identify customer and business opportunities
  • \n
  • Partner with business, risk and technology teams to deliver value
  • \n
  • Make informed prioritisation decisions balancing customer, risk and commercial outcomes
  • \n
  • Drive stakeholder alignment and effective decision making
  • \n
  • Manage delivery risks, dependencies and implementation impacts
  • \n
  • Support the ongoing evolution of collections experiences and services
  • \n
About You\n

You're passionate about improving experiences and enjoy solving complex problems in partnership with diverse stakeholder groups. You understand how to balance customer needs, business outcomes and delivery constraints while maintaining focus on achieving meaningful results.

You're comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment and have a track record of delivering outcomes through collaboration and influence.

  • Proven Product Owner, Product Manager or delivery leadership experience

  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing capability
  • \n
  • Experience leading product discovery and prioritisation activities
  • \n
  • Ability to define and communicate clear product direction

  • Strong understanding of customer experience and service improvement
  • \n
  • Experience working with Agile teams and delivery frameworks
  • \n
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills
  • \n
  • Experience within banking, lending, servicing or collections environments is desirable
  • \n
  • Ability to navigate complex stakeholder and regulatory environments
