PPFX Limtied trading as Survion is seeking an experienced Senior Automotive Surface Protection Technician to join our growing Auckland team.

We specialise in premium automotive protection services including paint protection film (PPF), vinyl wrapping, ceramic coatings, and vehicle enhancement solutions for a wide range of vehicles.

This role involves precision installation of protective film systems and vehicle surface enhancement products using specialised tools and advanced application techniques.

Key Duties:

·       Preparing vehicle surfaces through cleaning, decontamination, paint correction, and surface treatment processes prior to film application.

·       Measuring, cutting, shaping, heat-forming, and applying paint protection films (PPF), vinyl wraps, and window tint films to vehicles using specialised installation techniques.

·       Installing protective film systems on complex vehicle surfaces including bumpers, mirrors, door edges, bonnets, guards, roofs, and custom body components.

·       Operating specialised tools and equipment including plotters, heat guns, cutting systems, polishing equipment, and film application tools.

·       Inspecting vehicles before and after installation to ensure high-quality workmanship, accurate alignment, and defect-free application.

·       Identifying and rectifying installation defects such as lifting, bubbling, contamination, stretching, and edge alignment issues.

·       Advising customers on suitable vehicle protection solutions, film maintenance requirements, and aftercare procedures.

·       Assisting with customised vehicle wrap and protection projects according to customer specifications and company quality standards.

·       Maintaining workshop cleanliness, equipment condition, stock levels, and safe handling of specialised materials and chemicals.

·       Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with workplace health and safety requirements and company operational procedures.

·       Assisting in training junior technicians and maintaining consistent installation standards across projects.

·       Keeping up to date with new film technologies, installation methods, and automotive surface protection products.

We are looking for someone with:

• At least 2 years of relevant experience
• Strong attention to detail
• Experience with PPF, vinyl wrap, tinting, or automotive detailing
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced workshop environment
• Good technical and communication skills
