About the Role
The purpose of the role is to provide leadership and oversight of emergency management for the Northland District, ensuring the local health system is prepared for, responds effectively to, and recovers from emergencies and disruptive events.
The role is accountable for leading district‑level emergency management capability, strengthening readiness and resilience across services, and supporting consistent, coordinated emergency management delivery within the district.
About you
You will be able to lead the emergency management service within the district, ensuring that people and financial resources are maximised in delivering effective services to the organisation.
You are an experienced emergency management or health operations professional who can operate confidently at a district leadership level. You understand the realities of delivering programmes in complex health environments and can balance strategic planning with hands‑on operational leadership. You bring sound judgement, the ability to work under pressure, and a strong understanding of risk, readiness, and response.
You will support wider district operations by contributing to emergency threat assessment, preparedness, and response activities, and by providing specialist emergency management advice during district responses to, and recovery from, emergencies.
