The Role

We are looking for an Environmental Advisor to join our team and help drive meaningful change in environmental management across our scheme. This role is central to supporting shareholders, monitoring water quality, and ensuring MHV meets its environmental and compliance obligations.

You will be involved in:

• Assisting with Farm Environmental Plan (FEP) updates, FEP Audits and associated on-farm actions.

• Supporting environmental monitoring programmes, including surface water, groundwater, and ecology.

• Helping deliver initiatives such as irrigation calibration, riparian planting, and nutrient benchmarking.

• Building strong relationships with shareholders, contractors, and industry stakeholders.

• Communicating environmental information clearly through reports, meetings, and workshops.

About You

This role is well-suited to someone at the early stages of their career in environmental, agricultural science, or environmental planning fields but we also welcome applications from those with more experience or with adjacent skillsets. What matters most is your enthusiasm, curiosity, and willingness to learn.

We're looking for someone who brings:

• A degree in Environmental Science, Agricultural Science, Environmental Planning or a related field.

• A good understanding of farming systems and/or freshwater and environmental science.

• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications

• Initiative, curiosity, adaptability, and a solutions-focused mindset.

• A full NZ driver's licence.

Experience with GIS, resource management policies, or environmental monitoring techniques would be an advantage, but training and support will be provided.
