\n Position Summary\n
Auckland's Deputy Mayor is looking for a communications advisor who can tell the story of the country's biggest council in a compelling and authentic way.
\nThis is a hands‑on role in a close‑knit office. You will be on the tools every day, producing content. You'll work alongside the Deputy Mayor, helping shape public conversations about Auckland's future through compelling content, effective media engagement and authentic storytelling.
\nThis role is about telling stories that cut through, not traditional corporate communications.
\nIn this role you’ll be:
\nYou will bring practical experience in content production, social media, digital marketing, media relations or journalism.
\nYou enjoy working in a fast‑paced environment and thrive in a small, high‑performing team.
\nYou’ll have the flexibility to work outside standard hours when events and media require it.
\nYou build strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and bring sound political judgement, discretion and good instincts.
\nYou are confident engaging with media, managing enquiries, and preparing speeches, speaking notes and other high‑quality communications at pace.
\nAbove all, you will bring enthusiasm, initiative and integrity, with the ability to represent the Deputy Mayor's authentic voice.
