About the Auckland System Management (ASM) Alliance

The ASM is an alliance between HEB Construction, Fulton Hogan and NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi to operate and maintain Aucklands motorway network. The Alliance is expected to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders as well as suppliers to deliver exceptional outcomes for customers using the Auckland transport system. Estimated project dates are from July 2019 to June 2028.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a highly motivated General Hand to join our Structures Delivery team. As General Hand, you will work within a crew delivering maintenance and renewals of structures assets on the Auckland motorway network.

This is a full-time permanent night shift opportunity working Sunday to Thursday between 6:00PM to 6:00AM.

What you will be doing:

You will perform a variety of physical labouring tasks, including but not limited to:

  • Performing simple building repairs, concrete works, formworks for concrete, and reinforcement works
  • Using portable tools such as concrete breaker, drop saws, hand grinders, and portable drilling machines, to perform tasks such as drilling into concrete, concrete cutting, and breaking concrete.
  • Assisting with basic landscaping duties, including mowing, trimming, weeding, and clearing walkways/catchpits as needed

About You:

Our ideal candidate will have the following qualifications, experience and skills:

  • Minimum full Class 1 license, Class 2 license and WTR endorsements.
  • Proven experience in road maintenance industry advantageous.
  • Good level of physical fitness and ability to lift up to 25kg.
  • Comfortable with controlled exposure to loud noises, dust, and fumes.
