As the business continues to grow, they are now seeking to appoint an experienced Account Manager to take ownership of a portfolio of their largest and most strategically important customers, ensuring strong relationships, outstanding service delivery, and continued commercial growth. (e.g Large mulit-site customers).
The Opportunity:
This is a relationship-focused commercial role, where you will act as the key point of contact for a portfolio of major customers, ensuring exceptional service delivery, identifying growth opportunities, and strengthening long-term partnerships.
This is not just an account maintenance role. They are looking for someone commercially minded who can build trusted relationships, identify additional revenue growth opportunities, improve account performance, and proactively manage customer retention within a competitive market.
We are looking for someone who will not just nurture the client portfolio, but who will focus on growth, constantly looking for ways to improve revenue and increase “share of wallet” within these accounts.
The role will suit someone who enjoys being out in front of customers, solving problems, adding value, and becoming a genuine strategic partner to key clients.
The Role:
- Managing and nurturing allocated customer accounts.
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with key customer stakeholders.
- Identifying opportunities to grow revenue through the sale of additional products and services.
- Maintaining accurate customer records and activity reporting within their CRM platform.
- Preparing proposals, pricing submissions, service reviews, and customer presentations as required.
- Coordinating with operational teams to ensure customer expectations and service commitments are met.
- Assisting with contract renewals, extensions, and customer retention strategies.
- Identifying customer risks, competitor activity, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Maintaining a regular customer contact programme and account review schedule.
- Supporting the successful onboarding and integration of newly acquired customers.
- Ensuring customer issues and opportunities are identified and managed proactively.
- Acting as the primary relationship manager for accounts allocated by management from time to time.
About You:
- Proven experience and confidence managing accounts and engaging with head-office stakeholders, and procurement teams.
- Proven experience identifying business growth opportunities, with a strategic sales focus.
- Demonstrated high-level relationship management skills, ensuring proactive, resolution-oriented customer contact.
- Ability to identify growth opportunities and pitch solutions that support business objectives.
- Strong understanding of the relationship between sales and operations and ability to balance customer needs with practical solutions.
- Strong financial acumen and negotiation skills
- Strong Excel capability and strong working knowledge of CRM systems and reporting tools.
