Job Description Health and Safety Lead by example in adhering to Health & Safety procedures holding all staff and contractors accountable to high safety and compliance standards. Identify and assess equipment and site hazards, implementing and maintaining effective risk controls and safe operating procedures to ensure maintenance activities are carried out safely. Provide technical advice to winery teams on managing engineering-related hazards and appropriate control options. Implement & maintain the Safety Permit to Work (PTW) system for all contractor work on site. Leadership and Coaching Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to the Maintenance team to build capability, support ongoing development, and foster a high-performance culture. Conduct regular conversations with team members, ensuring they are clear on their performance and development goals and helping them to undertake their roles effectively. Support the company’s culture ambitions by role modelling constructive leadership behaviours. Maintenance Strategy & Planning Develop and lead team to implement the Annual Planned Maintenance (PM) Schedule, and review it to optimise cost, reliability, and asset availability. Collect, prioritise, plan and schedule Reactive Maintenance (RM) work for the winery Coordinate maintenance plans with winery and cellar teams to meet operational and safety requirements. Procure & manage an appropriate inventory of spare parts & materials to minimise down time risk to production processes Compliance Ensure all plant, equipment and maintenance activities comply with regulatory, safety, environmental and food safety requirements. Ensure hazardous substances storage and all site compliance certifications are managed and maintained in line with regulatory requirements, including timely completion and reporting to maintain Building WOF and other statutory obligations. Maintain all maintenance related records required for Quality audit and participate in Quality audits as required. Train and ensure staff and contractors adhere to relevant quality and food safety standards. Site, Facilities and Asset Management Monitor execution of maintenance plans and resolve delays or performance issues. Establish and implement effective processes to monitor plant and utility performance, identify deviations, and drive timely maintenance interventions through predictive and preventative techniques. Monitor the winery SCADA system, investigate & resolve process and equipment alarms impacting plant or utility performance. Ensure grounds, buildings, workshops, and facilities are maintained in a safe, clean, cost effective and fit-for-purpose condition. Identify and implement opportunities to improve site maintenance efficiency and presentation. Operational Support (during Harvest and After-hours) Ensure equipment and contractor readiness to support harvest operations. Provide leadership and hands-on support during harvest, or after-hours when required. Liaise with winery management team to establish and manage after-hours response systems for alarms and critical site issues. Ensure reliable contractor support for breakdowns outside normal operating hours. Manage & lead the remote monitoring call out lists for critical winery & fire alarms. Manage contractor arrangements to ensure availability of reliable & competent after-hours breakdown support to minimise after-hours impact on CBNZ staff. Contractor, Supplier and Contract Management Manage and optimise contractor and supplier relationships to ensure delivery of high-quality, cost-effective, and timely maintenance services. Regularly review contractor’s performance and ensure all contractor compliance requirements (HSE pre-qualification, inductions, insurance & specialist training) are met. Negotiate & manage service contracts and contractor engagement terms that meet Constellation Brands legal, commercial & procurement requirements & provide value to the business. Maintenance budget management Prepare and manage the maintenance budget, including forecasting, reporting, cost control and monthly reconciliation. Oversee purchasing of materials, spares, and services to ensure value, availability, and minimal downtime risk. Review supplier quotes, invoices to ensure payment accuracy and cost-effectiveness. Communicate any resource or material issues and/or delays to appropriate teams. Project Management Manage or assist with capital and maintenance projects as directed by line manager or leader Develop, gain approval, manage & report on capital project budgets Lead or participate in the Constellation Brands Management of Change process as required Work with teams to ensure effective commissioning, handover, training & Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are completed for new equipment. Record keeping and systems management Manage and optimise the Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to support maintenance planning, tracking, and reporting. Maintain accurate maintenance records, procedures, and asset documentation. Track spare parts inventory and ensure effective, timely stock management and reordering processes. Capture learnings and continuously improve maintenance procedures and practices. Other Undertake any other reasonable duties or projects as instructed by the organisation.
