Procurement Specialist (Construction)

Were looking for a driven Procurement Specialist to join our high-performing team at the heart of it all.   About the Role This is more than procurement - its about delivering complex capital works and transformational construction projects that will shape the future of transport and infrastructure in New Zealand. Youll play a key role in the end-to-end procurement lifecycle, supporting a dynamic pipeline of multi-million dollar projects.   What Youll Be Doing

• Lead procurement strategies for major construction and infrastructure projects
• Manage end-to-end tendering processes, including evaluation and negotiation
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and legal teams to ensure procurement best practices
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and public sector standards
• Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong contractor relationships
• Drive cost-efficiency, innovation, and sustainability through smart procurement

About You Youll be someone who thrives in fast-paced, complex environments and understands the nuances of public-sector and capital project procurement.   Youll bring:

• 5+ years experience in procurement, preferably in construction, infrastructure, or public-sector environments
• Proven track record of managing large-scale tenders and contracts
• Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
• Knowledge of NZ procurement rules and construction contract frameworks (e.g. NZS3910, NEC)
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• A relevant tertiary qualification (Procurement, Engineering, Law, or Business preferred)
