We are looking for a Senior Associate Civil Engineer with specialist Stormwater skills to join our dedicated Development Infrastructure team based in our new Head Office in Wynyard Quarter, Auckland. Our team of over 50 civil engineers, project managers, and construction professionals work on transformative infrastructure projects across Aotearoa, Australia, and the Pacific. We provide civil engineering expertise across key segments including urban redevelopment, land development, roading, industrial, water, power, ports, airports, and rail. The variety of projects and geographies offers opportunities for personal and professional growth. With a strong pipeline of work and market opportunities, we seek to add key team members to support our ongoing delivery and growth.

Working with NZs top civil engineers and designers, you will:

• Lead client relationship management, project delivery, proposal preparation, planning, and financial management
• Work directly with clients and project partners, providing specialist stormwater design advice across civil and multidisciplinary projects
• Provide technical leadership, oversight, training, mentoring, and guidance to junior staff
• Develop and grow relationships with clients, industry partners, and the wider business at Beca

Mōu ake About you

Your passion, design, and problem-solving mindset will match your desire to work on meaningful projects. As a senior professional approaching Principal level, you will also:

• Be a Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng or equivalent) in Civil Engineering with a strong track record in stormwater design and planning within multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects
• Have experience in stormwater discipline leadership roles, managing client and regulatory relationships
• Possess a broad civil engineering background (10+ years) with specialist skills in stormwater engineering design and analysis, familiar with NZ standards and regulations
• Have experience with catchment planning and specialist assessments for Environmental Effects
• Be proficient with civil design and modelling tools such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Open Roads Designer, or 12D; knowledge of hydrological and flood modelling packages (e.g., HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, MUSIC) is advantageous
• Bring a proactive, collaborative attitude and enjoy working in teams
• Be committed to personal development and supporting junior staff; previous people management experience is a plus
• Be self-motivated and client-focused
