Te Tūranga / About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Senior Group Leader to take ownership of the Lamb Secondary Butchery department at our Pareora site, just south of Timaru. This senior production leadership role is pivotal to the success of the department, providing direction across people, daily operations, health and safety, quality, and compliance.

You'll be leading leaders - supporting Group Leaders and Team Leaders to deliver on performance, build capability, and drive continuous improvement. It's a role for someone who thrives on responsibility, can run a large department, and knows how to develop strong team culture through clear communication and leading by example.

Te Mahi / Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to the department to deliver on daily production targets and build a positive, high-performing culture.
• Review production performance, problem-solve with leaders, and take corrective action where required.
• Build and maintain an uncompromising focus on health, safety, and compliance.
• Champion continuous improvement and empower your team to find better ways of working.

Ōu Pūkenga / About You

You're a proven production leader, ideally with experience in food or meat processing, who knows how to get the best out of people and processes. You'll bring:

• Solid background in leading at scale - confident developing Group Leaders and Team Leaders.
• Experience in coaching, mentoring, and building strong team culture.
• Strong influencing skills with a track record of driving safety, quality, and compliance.
• Sound knowledge of regulatory and hygiene standards within processing environments.
• Comfortable with workforce management and employee relations matters.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Outlook).
