Senior Mechanical Engineer

Senior Mechanical Engineer - Christchurch Head Office

We have an exciting opportunity in our Christchurch Head Office for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our new product development-focused Mechanical Engineering team on a permanent basis.

The duties of the role will include:

  • Requirements capture and analysis
  • Design specification and implementation
  • Critical examination and review of design solutions
  • Supporting product manufacture
  • Staying up to date with standards, processes, and market expectations
  • Providing training and mentorship to engineers, guiding them in engineering methodologies
  • Leading design efforts by showcasing innovation and deep expertise across a wide range of engineering tasks
  • Supporting team growth by helping other engineers refine skills, develop new capabilities, and accelerate their learning
Ō pūkenga - About You

To be successful in this role, you will have a relevant tertiary qualification and/or relevant experience in the discipline.

As well as:

  • Experience with plastic and rubber mouldings, die castings, extrusions and sheet-metal, DFM, and 3D design tools (particularly Creo)
  • Up-to-date, practical knowledge of Mechanical design principles and processes
  • Excellent observational and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication, project management, and teamwork skills
