Senior People & Culture Business Partner

Are you a strategic, hands-on HR professional ready to make your mark with one of Australasia’s leading outdoor media companies? QMS is on the lookout for a resilient, experienced, and autonomous Senior People & Culture Business Partner to lead our NZ People & Culture function.

Life at QMS? It’s Anything but Ordinary!

At QMS, we deliver innovative outdoor advertising solutions across billboards, transit, airports, shopping centres, and public signage, here in Aotearoa and Australia. We’re passionate, curious, and bold – thriving on creativity and innovation. We put people first, embrace challenges, and continuously evolve. We celebrate diversity and inclusion and actively nurture a culture where everyone can thrive.

What you’ll be up to:

Reporting into the Head of People & Culture (P&C), you will serve as a trusted sole People & Culture lead in New Zealand. You’ll be empowered to operate with autonomy while collaborating with the Head of P&C and our AU-based team. This is a strategic and hands-on role where you’ll:

  • Lead end-to-end P&C support across the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, engagement, and compliance.
  • Partner with leaders and teams to drive talent development, succession planning, and workforce capability.
  • Deliver people initiatives that reflect QMS values, vision, and objectives – from engagement and wellbeing programs to cultural initiatives.
  • Provide expert advice on employee relations, policies, and NZ employment legislation to ensure positive outcomes and mitigate risk.
  • Support health & safety initiatives, audits, and risk management.
  • Continuously improve processes, champion best practice, and proactively identify opportunities to enhance the employee experience.
What we’re looking for:
  • 7–10+ years’ HR generalist experience, with at least 3–5 years at Business Partner or Manager level.
  • In-depth knowledge of NZ employment law, health & safety, and HR best practice.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously, managing complexity and volume in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong relationship-building, stakeholder management, and coaching skills.
  • Confident in making decisions, tackling challenges, and influencing leaders.
  • Tertiary qualification in HR, Business, or related field (preferred).
  • Experience in change management, Hi Bob HRIS, post-acquisition integration, and cultural competence initiatives (advantageous).
What’s in it for you?
  • A fun, supportive, and dynamic work environment where no two days are the same.
  • Opportunities to shape and lead the NZ people agenda, with real autonomy and influence.
  • Ongoing learning and development to accelerate your professional growth.
  • Flexible work options to fit around your life and priorities.
  • A workplace that values YOU, your ideas, and your contribution.
  • Access to wellbeing programs, employee benefits, and initiatives that support your health, development, and work-life balance.

At QMS, we value diversity, curiosity, creativity, and integrity. Even if you don’t meet 100% of the requirements, we encourage you to apply – your unique experience and perspective may be exactly what we need.
