As Store Manager, you will oversee the entire store, ensuring that each department has the resources it needs to deliver the exceptional shopping experience our customers deserve.
As a Store Manager, you will lead by example, tackling daily challenges. Along with supervising and guiding staff members, you will be responsible for prioritising tasks, addressing customer inquiries, managing staffing levels, ensuring store security, and upholding high standards of store presentation. This role requires a commitment of 32- 35 hours per week and might include weekend shifts.
Responsibilities:
Manage the day-to-day operations of the discount retail store to ensure efficient and profitable business performance.
Recruit, train, supervise, and support store staff, including preparing rosters and monitoring staff performance.
Ensure excellent customer service standards are maintained and resolve customer complaints and enquiries promptly.
Monitor sales performance and implement strategies to increase sales and improve customer satisfaction.
Maintain adequate stock levels by ordering, receiving, and monitoring inventory to meet customer demand.
Organise product displays and merchandising to ensure the store is attractive, clean, and well-presented at all times.
Negotiate with suppliers regarding product purchases, pricing, delivery schedules, and stock availability.
Monitor inventory movements and conduct regular stocktakes to minimise stock loss, damage, and discrepancies.
Prepare and manage store budgets, monitor expenses, and control operational costs to maximise profitability.
Oversee cash handling procedures, banking activities, and daily, weekly, and monthly sales reporting.
Develop and implement local promotional activities and marketing initiatives to increase customer traffic.
Ensure compliance with Employment Relations, Health and Safety, and other relevant legislation and company policies.
Monitor store security procedures and investigate any incidents relating to theft, loss, or workplace safety.
Maintain and improve store performance by analysing sales trends, customer demand, and operational requirements.
Liaise with suppliers, customers, and company management regarding store operations and business development opportunities.
Perform any other reasonable duties related to the successful operation and management of the retail store as directed by the employer.
Job Requirements:
A confident people leader with experience managing a small team.
A great communicator and be able to get your message across all levels.
Holder of high standards, attention to detail, integrity and ability to think outside of the square.
Problem solver and able to take action to enable solutions.
Hands-on person. Physical role that involves standing and repetitive heavy lifting and does not mind getting hands dirty.
Minimum Level 5 or higher qualification in Business or Management studies or a minimum of three years of relevant experience.
