Management Assistant & Coordinator - Partnerships & Harm Prevention Based at PNHQ, Wellington Full Time/Permanent Position Police Employee Nationally Advertised Vacancy Job Requisition: 5185387 Mō te tūnga | About the role An exciting opportunity exists in the Partnerships & Harm Prevention Team within the Investigations Group. The purpose of this team is to leverage our partnership and prevention opportunities across the system in order to make New Zealand the hardest place for organised criminals to do business. Organised crime is a corrupting influence worldwide, and its scope and scale in New Zealand is growing, causing significant social, economic and reputational harm and threatening the safety of individuals and communities. Recognising that an issue of this seriousness and complexity requires a coordinated and multifaceted response, the Government has instituted a two-pronged cross-agency approach to combat organised crime and reduce the harms it causes to communities: Transnational Organised Crime (TNOC) Strategy: a five-year strategy (2020-25), primarily focused on the supply-side and international context of organised crime. The Strategy brings together 19 government agencies to tackle TNOC by setting out a framework for a more coordinated, whole-of-system approach, with an increased focus on prevention. Resilience to Organised Crime in Communities (ROCC) work programme: a multi-agency approach supporting locally-led responses to organised crime. The ROCC work programme combines a community resilience prevention approach with targeted enforcement to simultaneously address the harms and drivers of organised crime. Central to the approach is engaging with partners, iwi, and communities to co-design responses. As the Management Assistant and Coordinator, you will play a vital role by supporting senior managers in the Investigations workgroup with a wide range of administration tasks and projects, ensuring a high level of service to other business groups and our external partners is always provided. As a Management Assistant and Coordinator, you will demonstrate a high level of competence in a wide range of administration tasks and executive support. In addition, you will possess well developed interpersonal skills, strong communication skills and have the ability to be discrete in relation to confidential matters. You must be agile and have the ability to take on different responsibilities and provide well rounded support to several workstreams and leaders. his role will offer the opportunity to take on different responsibilities while you grow and develop your skills within this role. Key Accountabilities: Provide excellent customer service and communication as you are often the first point of contact for the Team Provide administrative support to the Partnerships and Harm Prevention Leadership Team Assist members across the Partnerships and Harm Prevention Team including the Manager Assist in the delivery or projects across the workgroup Coordinate and facilitate meetings and functions Own and manage some of the groups reporting processes Assist with ad hoc tasks where required and use initiative to identify key areas where your support could be used.
