What you will be doing

The Portfolio Governance and Planning Manager is responsible Towers governance frameworks, monitoring delivery progress, optimising the allocation and utilisation of resources and providing reporting to stakeholders at the portfolio level.

Reporting to the Strategic Portfolio & Planning Lead, this role involves developing and maintaining robust governance frameworks that guide project execution and decision-making processes.

The manager is responsible for monitoring delivery progress to ensure projects stay on track and meet their objectives. Ensure optimal allocation and utilisation of resources, ensuring that the right resources are available at the right time to maximise efficiency and effectiveness.

Dive into the Heart of Your Responsibilities:

  • Establish and continuously improve Towers governance, prioritisation and resource capacity and capability management frameworks
  • Provide coaching and guidance on governance committees to ensure that the right level of discussions and decisions are being made
  • Establish and ensure adherence to reporting standards and protocols that ensure accurate, timely and consistent reporting across Tower
  • Work with stakeholders to provide ongoing reporting of portfolio wide performance against KPIs and early warning indicators
  • Manage prioritisation activities, both for Portfolio Performance and Investment Committee (PPIC) decision making and Quarterly Planning and communicate prioritisation decisions, rationale and trade-offs to stakeholders
  • Oversee the allocation of resources across change initiatives and ensure optimal utilisation aligned with organisational priorities

What Youll Need

  • 5+ years experience in strategic planning, portfolio management, programme management, or similar role, ideally within the financial services industry.
  • Experience in executing and tracking strategic plans and initiatives.
  • Deep knowledge of portfolio management frameworks (e.g. P3M), ideally with a relevant certification.
  • Experience using Project Portfolio Management tooling (e.g. Planview, Jira Align) to inform portfolio performance and planning discussions.
  • Proven ability to use data analytics and performance metrics (including financial data) to drive strategic decisions.
  • Knowledge of the software delivery lifecycle and Agile development methodologies and tools.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve high performance.
  • Understanding of financial principles and budgeting to manage portfolio costs and ensure financial accountability.
