Our Opportunity:
We have an opportunity to join the Nga Awa Purua and Rotokawa geothermal team. In this role as Site Lead you will take ownership of your sites through leading internal stakeholders to maintain health & safety, budgets, maximise availability and enabling Mercury to be the best electrical generator. Youll work closely with the Central Geo leadership group and members of the wider generation Leadership Team, sharing ideas to improve site operations and maintenance; recommending, supporting and implementing continuous improvement activities. You will be leading a team of 8 direct reports and 10 indirect reports.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead, develop and mentor a collaborative team (both direct reports and indirect), ensuring the wellbeing of all involved on your sites
- Ensure adherence to health & safety (particularly in a Major Hazardous Facility) and environmental compliance
- Lead or contribute to comprehensive asset risk assessments to identify, evaluate, and mitigate potential risks, ensuring the reliability and safety of site operations
- Operational Management and development of site-based budgeting
- Oversee asset management ensuring the units are reliable and available
- Sponsorship and prioritisation of project works
- Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including our joint venture partner, Tauhara North Number 2 Trust
We are looking for:
- Bachelor of Engineering or NZCE Electrical or Mechanical (or equivalent)
- Significant experience in plant operations, process control or maintenance in heavy industry
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and lead a team
- Proficient in maintenance systems and business practices, including budget control
