Covidence is our SAAS platform that enables health & science research teams to rapidly synthesise and uncover actionable insights from existing research in the world. THE OPPORTUNITY

Covidence is seeking a front-end Engineer ideally with experience across the software development lifecycle and with Ruby, to join our Product & Engineering team, reporting to an Engineering Team Lead.

In the past 3 years weve grown the engineering team, and we will continue to scale the team over the coming years. Were keen to chat to you and learn about what talents you can bring to our team.

Youll get to:

• Write code that thousands of researchers rely on every day.
• Guide and influence the evolution of our front-end along with your teammates.
• Guide the team on the direction of our front-end architecture.
• Guide the team on front-end best practices through technical workshops, code reviews and pair programming.
• Work to refine the teams processes to improve development, quality assurance, and delivery.
• Work alongside a product manager and designer to help shape product specifications.
• Be part of a small tight-knit, high-achieving team that values trust and respect for one another.

What you bring:

• Strong front end experience, with a willingness and ability to help out across the stack.
• Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of HTML, CSS, React, and Typescript.
• Ideally, you have experience in building accessible user interfaces.
• A pragmatic approach to refactoring and modernizing legacy code.
• Some experience in building and deploying in Ruby on Rails.
• Great communication skills, both written and verbal.
• A reasoned and pragmatic approach to software development and testing.
• A love of problem-solving, investigating problems and determining the appropriate fix.
• Experience working in an agile development environment.
