Āu Mahi | What You Will Do We are seeking an experienced Administrator to join the School of Mathematics and Statistics. This role is pivotal in providing top-notch administrative support to our staff, students, and stakeholders. Its a fantastic opportunity to be part of a prestigious university and contribute meaningfully to our academic community.

As a School Administrator, you will play a key role in providing high quality, proficient support to the School with an emphasis on a collaborative team approach. Our administrators work closely to support one another and take pride in delivering an excellent administrative service to staff, students and the wider community.

Please note that during peak periods throughout the academic year, you may be required to work additional time sheeted hours, up to full-time hours (37.5).

Mōu | Who You Are You have significant administrative experience, ideally in an education-related environment, and have:

Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years administrative experience in a medium to large organisation.
  • Knowledge of University procedures or experience working in the tertiary education sector.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint; and experience with student management software (Jade, SMS or similar); experience with SharePoint and TEAMS would be an advantage.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with staff, students, and external groups.
  • Excellent organisational skills including the ability to cope with competing demands.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with a high level of accuracy.
  • Experience working with purchasing, accounts payable and accounts receivable would be an advantage.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of meeting and minute taking protocols.
  • Experience in organising functions and other events.Active commitment to upholding the values, tikanga (protocols and processes), kawa (rules) of cultural practice and traditions as guided by mana whenua, Ngāi Tūāhuriri, and valuing te reo Māori.
