The Pegasus Health 24 Hour Surgery is committed to providing high-quality, 24 hour healthcare to the people of Christchurch. We work in a tight knit and supportive team that are dedicated to our purpose “Together making Canterbury the best place to receive and provide primary care”. We have a purpose designed Urgent Care service that provides a wide range of diagnostic services, an observation unit, fracture management and community care . It is the only medical centre in the South Island that operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

We currently have a few permanent Medical Officer positions available with hours ranging from 24-32 hours per week.

Our Medical Officers, works collaboratively as part of a larger team, providing acute medical services to patients who present at the 24 Hour Surgery with a diverse range of conditions. Expert knowledge and clinical skills are used to oversee patient care, using best practice to ensure patient outcomes are maximised. The role has flexible working hours, including a variety of day, evening, night and weekend shifts.

• Registered Medical Practitioner with the Medical Council of New Zealand or eligible for registration with the Medical Council to enable practice in New Zealand
• Minimum of 3 years postgraduate work experience
• Experience working in Urgent Care, Primary Care, Emergency Medicine, Paediatrics or Orthopaedics.
• Well developed problem solving and analytical skills
• Strong relationship building skills
