Manager Infrastructure - Central
This is a leadership opportunity, building on a strong foundation, to lead the continued evolution of a collaborative team culture, developing our people, delivering on strategy, and making everyday better for the communities that Beca serve. You will have scope to make a difference through leading a team that delivers innovative, sustainable, and complex critical infrastructure projects and outcomes, as well as through developing others technical, delivery, client engagement and professional capability.
You will be part of the New Zealand Mobility & Precincts leadership team, leading a diverse and vibrant Infrastructure Business in the Central region of New Zealand, building on their track record delivering critical infrastructure and related projects for this region. These include the Mackays to Peka Peka, and Peka Peka to Ōtaki expressway extensions for NZTA, and Kāinga Oras housing upgrade programme in East Porirua. The team are currently delivering the Ōtaki to North of Levin expressway for NZTA and Wellington Airports Apron Development Programme, as well as recently being announced as panel member for the Hawkes Bay Expressway.

You will be able to apply your values-based leadership to lead our collaborative team culture, with a focus on developing others and enabling delivery of complex transport and infrastructure projects throughout the region. You will have the autonomy to build on our existing strategy with support from the Mobility & Precinct leaders in the team - each who are experienced leaders with Beca and in the region. Together with the other Mobility & Precinct Section Managers and the Operations Manager, you will be part of a Leadership Team connecting and leading our New Zealand business. In addition, you will be supported by the broader Beca specialists and experts across multiple disciplines, as well as the local market and client leaders and the Central regional leadership team.
In this role, you will have plenty of variety, challenge and reward with no two days being the same. You will be leading a team of 35 talented engineering, design and delivery professionals based in Becas regional hub of Wellington, and with teams supporting the local markets in Palmerston North, Hawkes Bay and Nelson. Together, this team delivers complex transport and infrastructure projects with clients in a broad cross-section of Becas key markets across Aotearoa and the Pacific including critical infrastructure in the roading, aviation, energy, water and climate resilience related sectors.
You will be working with leaders and team leaders to promote career mentoring and technical development, retention, recruitment and that the team has the right balance of skills, experience and abilities across all career levels from graduates through to Senior Principals. This role will include working collaboratively with our key market leaders understanding our clients current and future project requirements. In addition, this role will be working with other Managers, supporting the business through the adoption of new ways of working resulting from Becas investment in Enterprise System Implementation projects currently underway.
