We are looking for an experienced or aspiring Actuarial Analyst to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

About the role

This role is key to delivering essential actuarial services that enhance the sustainability and profitability of our assurance business. As an analyst, youll directly influence Chubb Life New Zealands financial health and drive our success forward.

Collaborating with the Head of Pricing and Experience Investigations, youll gain invaluable insights from senior leadership and the strategic decision-making processes that drive our organisation.

This role offers an exciting blend of financial, strategic, and commercial support, allowing you to dive into a diverse array of responsibilities. This variety will keep you interested and learning for the duration of this 12 month Fixed Term Contract.

In this key role youll

• Contribute to and support the provision of actuarial advice in pricing and product decisions.
• Support the production of annual experience investigations and contribute to the best estimate assumption setting process.
• Support ad hoc requests from internal and external customers that require actuarial advice.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
Streamline complex processes to minimise risks and implement best practices.

To be successful and grow in this role, you will ideally bring the following

• Up to 3 years of Actuarial experience
• An understanding of actuarial processes and systems, ideally Prophet
• Ability to think analytically and use rigorous logic and methods to solve mathematical and technology problems with effective solutions
• Demonstrable experience in a results oriented environment
• Experience in computer programming or coding is advantageous

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Actuarial Science or other quantitative discipline
• Student of the New Zealand Society of Actuaries - minimum progress with Level 1 exams
