About the role

As an Energy Contracts & Operations Specialist, youll be at the forefront of managing and optimising Genesis growing portfolio of Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs). Your role will be all about ensuring these agreements deliver value whether its through smart contract management, process innovation, or working with internal teams and industry partners to shape the future of our energy portfolio.

This is more than just a contracts role - its a chance to influence how Genesis navigates the evolving energy market. Youll support large-scale tender processes, refine contract terms, and help develop new IT solutions that make our operations smarter and more efficient. Whether its negotiating partnerships, tracking performance, or shaping the long-term portfolio strategy, youll be part of an exciting journey in the ever-evolving energy sector.

Please note this a fulltime permanent role and will be based at our Auckland or Hamilton office.

About you

Youre a commercially savvy professional with a knack for contracts, numbers, and strategy. You love collaborating with different teams, translating complex data into actionable insights, and finding ways to optimise performance.

What youll bring:

• Tertiary qualification in finance, engineering, or another quantitative field or equivalent experience with financial or market data.
• Experience managing Power Purchase Agreement contracts or large-scale commercial procurement.
• Strong understanding of contractual terms and how to turn them into operational strategies.
• Experience with Excel; familiarity with VBA and SQL is beneficial but not a requirement.
• Familiarity with the New Zealand energy sector and renewable generation is a plus.
