Position: Assistant Tennis Coach Location: Otumoetai Tennis Club, Tauranga Reports to: Head Coach

With our modern facilities and a growing base of passionate players, we are dedicated to providing top-tier training and development for players who are serious about reaching their full potential in the sport.

We are seeking a motivated and dynamic Assistant Tennis Coach to join our current coaching team at Otumoetai Tennis Club, with potential in the future to take on the Head Coach position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and conduct high-quality tennis lessons for individuals and groups across various age groups and skill levels.
• Evaluate players strengths and weaknesses, providing constructive feedback and personalized training plans to enhance their performance.
• Foster a positive and motivating learning environment that encourages skill development, sportsmanship, and a love for the game.
• Develop and implement progressive training programs suitable for beginners, intermediate, and advanced players.
• Stay current with tennis coaching trends, techniques, and methodologies to continually enhance coaching skills.
• Collaborate with fellow coaches and committee to ensure the smooth running of the tennis program and the overall growth of the club.

Ideal Candidate:

• Hold a recognized tennis coaching certification, minimum ITF level 1 (Junior Development Coach) or other relevant tennis certification (USPTA, PTR, or equivalent).
• Current First Aid certificate (NZQA US6402, 6401)
• Clean Police Vet (Childrens Act)
• Minimum 2-3 years of tennis coaching experience at all levels (Hots Shots to Performance level)
• Proven experience as a tennis coach or player with an in-depth understanding of the technical, tactical, and psychological demands of the sport.
• Strong track record of coaching players to competitive success in tournaments, leagues, and high-level competitions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with players, parents, and club members.
• Collaborative mindset and the ability to work seamlessly within a team of coaches to create a unified coaching approach.
• A genuine passion for tennis and a commitment to instilling that passion in others.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate the scheduling needs of the Tennis Club.
• Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development and staying informed about the latest advancements in tennis coaching.

Starting Date: Negotiable for the right candidate. Ideally start of Term 3 or before.
