Location: Wellington Regional HospitalService: Radiology Department - Wellington Hospital
Contract: Permanent, full time position. Monday - Friday 07:00 to 17:00 (8 hour day rostered between these hours).
Weekend work is available on a voluntary basis.

About the Role
This is an opportunity to make a difference within the MRI department in Radiology at Wellington hospital as an integral member of the MRI team. The Radiographic assistant role is hugely varied and works closely with the MRI Medical imaging technologists, Radiologists, students and our Radiology administration team.
Main duties involve working with MRI MITS to assist patients, help prepare the rooms for different procedures, perform patient bookings and maintain stock. Proficient computer skills are essential as you will be required to manage patient information and data.
- Assist the MRI Unit Charge and MRI MIT - s with patient preparation.
- Contacting patients by phone to confirm appointments and ensure patient safety
- Provide a welcoming environment for patients on arrival to MRI
- Helps manage workflow and bookings across the MRI department
- Assistance in any other modalities as requested
- Necessary supplies are appropriately ordered and stocked
- Ensure rooms are cleaned and tidied, any spills or waste appropriately cleaned up
About the Team/Service/Location
The department at Wellington hospital has two MRI scanners that support an outpatient and hospital based workload. We provide a wide range of regional services for patients across the lower North Island and upper South. These include breast biopsy, cardiac, advanced brain, paediatric, geriatric and ICU imaging.
The work is rewarding and sometimes challenging, with the entire team contributing to provide a positive experience for our patients. Additional training and support will be given if the successful candidate has no previous experience in a medical imaging environment.
