About Us:
Join Thermo Fisher Scientific at our Penrose facility, producing world-class cell culture media and freeze-dried powder products under the Gibco brand, used globally in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries.
The Role:
We are seeking a Manufacturing Technician to join our Biomanufacturing Unit. Youll process animal blood-derived material into sterile liquid and freeze-dried products. This full-time position operates Monday to Friday with shifts from either 9:00am to 5:30pm or 4:30pm to 1:00am, based on business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily production activities following defined procedures.
- Maintain cGMP and ISO standards.
- Perform manual handling tasks and operate various machines.
- Communicate production issues to supervisors.
Keys to Success:
Education:
- A science-related qualification is optional.
Experience:
- Preferred experience in a manufacturing environment is desirable but not essential, as on-the-job training is provided.
- Good mechanical proficiency.
Skills:
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively.
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Work in a critical hygiene environment.
- Capable of manual handling tasks, including lifting up to 20kg.
- Safely handle chemicals and hazardous materials.
