Tenei turanga - About the Role:

The Our Future Services programme will deliver a cost-effective immigration system that is efficient and effective at managing immigration risk, and that provides a better experience for our customers and staff. The programme will be delivered through multiple workstreams working in parallel, with each workstream implementing key initiatives with set milestone dates.

You will be part of the Programmes and Partnerships Branch within Corporate and Digital Shared Services. As the Technical Lead you will play a key role in delivering technical improvements and enhancements within the Our Future Services programme reporting to the Head of Digital and Programmes - Immigration. The Technical Lead role will work across all the Our Future Services workstreams that are engaged in the delivery of application changes within the Programme providing technical advice and guidance in line with the organisations agreed solutions architecture.

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft software, D365, Azure Native Services, and proficiency in programming languages (Java, Python, C#, JavaScript), software architecture, cloud platforms, and DevOps practices. This includes sound working knowledge and experience with Cloud IaaS, SaaS, and PaaS migrations.
  • Leading the detailed design and development for systems integrations and provide strategic partners / vendors technical oversight.
  • Prior experience as build engineer or Solutions Architect with a proven track record in automation and continuous integration and deployment.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand the business context and functional requirements along with the technical context and translate this to technical teams.
  • Self-managing, with the ability to perform a range of tasks under competing demands, prioritise effectively and escalate issues accordingly.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with clear evidence of influencing skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with a wide range of people.
  • Inspire and guide development teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
  • Rapidly diagnose and resolve technical issues, ensuring minimal disruption.
  • Ability to build/ maintain relationships and work seamlessly with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and vendors to achieve shared goals.
  • Clearly articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to interpret operational alerts and errors, and develop effective solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing technical implementation plans and managing parallel delivery of complex initiatives.
