Starting salary: $95,972.00 - $128,391.00 + Superannuation

The role | Te tūnga

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Test Lead to join our project team for 1-year fixed term. The preferred location for this role is Christchurch, though other locations like Wellington will be considered.

As a Test Lead you will be leading testing effort for our data product delivery on data platform ensuring the highest quality standards are met. You will be working with a team of testers, coordinating testing activities and work closely with vendors and project managers to deliver exceptional product.

As a test lead, youll contribute to:

• Developing and implementing comprehensive test strategies and plans
• Lead and mentor a team of testers, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure test coverage and timely delivery of projects
• An ability to quickly learn about Stats NZ and relevant business processes, surveys and data
• Identify, track and manage defects using appropriate tools
• Conduct test reviews, ensuring adherence to quality standards and best practices

We are looking for motivated individual with:

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in software testing, with at least 2 years in a lead role in complex, large scale ICT environment
• Strong understanding of testing methodologies and tools (eg. Python, Scala, Selenium)
• Experience in automating integration and regression tests
• Strong understanding of data management and application testing including highlighting any experience working with data platforms in a project
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Experience at self-management and a team player in an IT project or delivery environment
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
