About our team

MSDs Programme Investment Management Office | Nga Rau Whakangao supports MSDs investment in change programmes through integrated prioritisation and planning, support for investment and value management, consistent frameworks and guidance, enabling governance decisions, and undertaking assurance across key controls.

About the role

  • Opportunity to lead an expert team in enterprise portfolio and programme management
  • Specific focus on integrated prioritisation and planning

The Programme Investment Management Office (PIMO) Lead is a key strategic advisory and people leadership role.

This role is one of two leads who collectively deliver on PIMOs key functions by providing high-level specialist expertise, portfolio/programme level development and planning through their teams specific function and provide leadership, direction, capability, and support for:

  • integrated prioritisation and planning for MSDs investment in change initiatives
  • value management and investment case support to enable good decisions
  • consistent frameworks, standards and guidance for change delivery and governance processes - providing a single source of truth for change delivery
  • enabling decisions and improvements through data-driven reporting
  • quality assurance across key controls and supporting effective risk management

This role will have specific responsibility for integrated prioritisation and investment planning, processes and tools and includes a focus on future delivery approaches and the tools that support this.

Key responsibilities

  • Strategic leadership, advice and support that aligns with MSDs strategic objectives and Target Operating Model
  • People leadership
  • Enterprise programme/portfolio management
  • Integrated enterprise planning and delivery, including frameworks, practices and toolsets

What youll bring

  • Extensive experience as a strategic leader, with strong delivery experience in the context of enterprise investment planning
  • Significant experience in programme and portfolio management within a complex, multi-modal environment
  • Proven experience at managing people to get the best out of them and deliver high quality work is a must
  • A sound understanding of the workings of Government

Salary range: $142,530.00 - $210,966.00
