Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity

We are looking for an enthstic and forward-looking Audiologist to join our busy service on a fixed term basis until May 2026 to cover parental leave. The service has a focus on delivering a patient-centric journey as well as encouraging clinical excellence and state-of-the-art care. You will be working with an experienced team of audiologists based at one of NZs largest teaching hospitals.

We will consider applications from both experienced audiologists, along with graduate audiologists with an interest in developing a broad foundation in clinical practice. We are looking for an audiologist who is passionate about their work, puts their patient and whānau at the centre of care, has excellent interpersonal skills, is dedicated, and has the ability to work flexibly in a bustling team environment while maintaining high quality care.

Mō tātou Ratonga | About our Service

You will be working with a team comprising of a number of experienced audiologists, supportive and efficient administrative staff and a well-established co-located Newborn Hearing Screening Programme. As part of the team you will mostly be working with tāmariki to provide diagnostic assessment and habilitation services, as well as bone anchored hearing aid assessment and fitting, and ENT diagnostic adult assessments. You will have opportunity to be involved in rural satellite clinics and work alongside paediatric services and Ministry of Education staff.

Required skills & experience you will need to be considered for this role:

  • Qualified Audiologist with a Masters degree in Audiology, or have an equivalent qualification recognised by the New Zealand Audiological Society
  • Ideally you will have NZAS Clinical Competency Certificate and NZAS Paediatric Certifications, however support to gain these can be provided.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • The ability to work well within a team
  • Current full clean NZ drivers licence
