He kōrero mō te tūranga | About the Role Are you passionate about supporting the wellbeing and independence of Tāngata Whai i Te Ora? Join Te Kōtuku Ki Te Rangi, a Kaupapa Māori mental health provider, as a Support Worker Kaimahi (Casual)! Youll provide holistic, recovery-focused support that upholds the mana of Tāngata Whai i Te Ora and their whānau. This flexible, on-call role covers day, night, and weekend shifts in our 24/7 service. Ngā kawenga me ngā haepapa | Key Responsibilities
  • Support Tāngata Whai i Te Ora in their journey to independence & recovery
  • Assist with daily living, personal care & community engagement
  • Follow & contribute to individual care plans
  • Encourage reconnection with whakapapa, hapū & iwi
  • Ensure safe medication administration (as required)
  • Maintain health & safety standards and accurate documentation
  • Collaborate with clinical teams & external agencies
Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills & Experience
  • NZQA Level 4 Mental Health & Wellbeing (or commitment to start in 6 months)
  • Experience in mental health support (preferred, not required)
  • Full, clean NZ drivers licence
  • Strong communication & interpersonal skills
  • Compassionate, respectful & able to work within a Kaupapa Māori framework
  • Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in mental health services
