We have the opportunity for an intermediate Automation Tester to join our BNZ Technology team, in Customer Onboarding & Identity domain. Youll be part of a team dedicated to developing and supporting the technology behind our cutting-edge platform for onboarding non-personal customers. Mō te Tūranga | About the Role We sat down with our Engineering Lead, and they let us know the following about the role. What are 5 day to day tasks the person in this role will complete?
  • Test the microservices being developed and maintained by the team.
  • Proactively raise issues or defects and help resolve them.
  • Drive the testing approach of user stories during refinement/planning.
  • Production & incident support of existing services and platforms.
  • Develop and maintain automated tests for the microservices and the UI.

The team is made up of people coming from diverse backgrounds who thrive on having open and challenging discussions to deliver the best for the customers. The team has recently had addition of new people, so this will be a perfect timing to join the team to help influence the ways of working. What projects / work will the candidate be working on now and into the next year? Joining one the Onboarding teams in the Customer Onboarding & Identity domain, to test the technology driving new platform for onboarding non-personal customers. This includes testing the microservices and the SaaS platform integrating with these services. What attributes will this person display in order to be successful in this role?
  • Experienced tester with good critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proactive in their approach to testing.
What specific tech skills would be beneficial?
  • Experience with testing RESTful microservices developed using Java/Springboot.
  • Experience in using tools such as Postman/Insomnia to test the microservices.
  • Experience using tools such as Playwright/Cypress to automate the UI testing.
  • Proficient with at least one programming language e.g., Java, TypeScript.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment and building/deploying via CI/CD pipelines.
