Position Objective: To serve and add value to customer needs in an efficient and friendly manner to ensure CALTEX remains the brand of choice.

Responsibilities:

Customer Services

  • Greets and receives customers in a welcoming manner.

  • Develop a rapport with customers, demonstrating a friendly and helpful manner to put them at ease

  • Display a courteous and empathetic attitude to all customers

  • Respond to customer enquires

  • Provide information on products and Services

  • Ability to work in busy and challenging customer focussed environment

  • Provide efficient forecourt services

  • Develop skills in checking oil, windscreen washer and water reservoirs if requested by the customer.

  • Assist customer in washing windscreen if requested

  • Keep forecourt area clean and tidy

  • Cleans/buff the car wheels/body before or after Carwash if required

  • Confirms Petrol, Diesel and LPG requirements with the Customers before filling

  • Process all Point of Sale transactions in an accurate and timely manner

  • Familiarize yourself with current information about services and products available for customers

  • Participate in training and professional development and put new skills to immediate and meaningful use

Ultimately, you will ensure that customers leave our store satisfied and you will contribute to the stores profitability.

Barista & Food Handling Responsibilities

  • Welcoming customers, informing them about specials or new item

  • Promoting coffee and tea blends.

  • Learning about different coffee-making methods, beverage blends, food preparation, and presentation techniques to improve food quality.

  • Cleaning and restocking work, emptying trash, and sanitizing equipment and utensils.

  • Develop skills in handling and maintenance of all equipment.

  • Keep Coffee Machine and Food to Go area clean and tidy all the time

  • Complete daily Equipment Temperature Log

  • Complete daily Pie Use by form & daily Wastage Sheet

  • Adhering to all food safety regulations and quality controls.

Store merchandising and Stocktaking

  • Shelf stocking (including product facing) and ordering

  • Checks items received against delivery invoice to ensure the delivery is accurate, Report issues or problem to Store Manager or Assistant Manager.

  • Identify and withdraw defective or expired items from shelves

  • Organize the stockroom and ensure accurate labelling, logical placement, neat arrangement, and cleanliness

  • Ensure stock control is maintained and rotated

  • Carry out Stock takes daily as allocated.

  • Observes proper safety procedures in the stockroom, particularly when lifting and moving heavy items.

Cashier Operations

  • Cash drops

  • Tacc II operation

  • End of Shift

  • Tacc reconciliation - Cash Drop Sheet - New float setup

  • Following all store procedures regarding coupons, gift cards, or the purchase of specific items, such as cigarettes or Lotto.

  • Accepting payments, ensuring all prices and quantities are accurate

  • Accuracy with cash handling, maximum allowance variance $5.00

  • Maintaining a clean workspace

  • Completing administration accurately

  • Record keeping all transaction receipt need to be kept.

You should have a strong work ethic and high level of accuracy. You should be responsible, attentive to customer needs, and committed to providing excellent service.

Cleaning

  • Complete cleaning chart on daily basis

  • Carry out daily cleaning tasks as per the daily cleaning chart

  • Carry out weekly cleaning tasks as per the weekly cleaning chart

  • Follow all health and safety regulations

You should be able to complete all tasks to the satisfaction within a given time.

Security and Loss Prevention

  • Take precautions to prevent theft of or damage to the stock or store

  • Follow established security procedures

  • Secure cash and stock from loss or theft

  • Monitor and report any suspicious activities

  • Any transaction which requires signature. The Signature on receipts needs to be verified with signature on card.

  • Ensure Signature receipts are kept along with End of Shift & End of Day Report.

Epay Product Sale Policy

  • Always take payment first before printing or activating any epay product.

  • DO NOT LOAD ANY PREZZY CARDS, PAYSAFE, GIFT CARDS OR VOUCHERS OVER THE PHONE IN ANY CIRCUMSTANCE!

Lotto Compliance

  • Lotto Instant Kiwi ticket sale policy should be followed and IK tickets to be sold only 18+

  • Lotto & Smoke Sale form of ID should be asked if a customer looks under 25 year, Acceptable ID are New Zealand Driver licences, New Zealand Passport, Overseas Passport, Kiwiaccess card which is 18plus card issued by Hospitality NZ under the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012

Occupational Health and Safety

  • Familiarise and become competent in use of ZORM - Z Energys initiated Health And Safety process and procedures

  • Follow health & safety procedures to prevent injury on forecourt on in-site

  • Provide a safe work environment for staff and customers

  • Clean up any spills in a timely manner, in the store, forecourt and in accordance with OSH and environment regulations

  • Always use appropriate provided Personal Protective Equipment(PPE) to perform task

  • Ensure that Health and Safety standards are met all the time (ZORM).

Personal Qualities

  • Maintain high personal presentation in the provided uniform(including black shoes) to meet company and customers expectation

  • Work as a team member

  • Enhance competencies to continually improve skills knowledge
